Hi, I’m Laurie, and I run Tasman Adventure. Originally from the UK, I’ve found my home in this part of the world and developed a passion for our beautiful scenery, history, and culture — and there’s nothing I enjoy more than sharing that passion with the people who come on our courses.
I’m a qualified International Mountain Leader and have been guiding and teaching outdoor skills for over 30 years. I’ve been lucky enough to work in some incredible places including the European Alps, Indian Himalaya, and Mongolia — not to mention four unforgettable years guiding here in the Abel Tasman National Park. Previously, I had a varied career including with the UK Fire and Rescue Service, Fire and Emergency New Zealand, and the Royal Marines.
While I lead most of the courses myself, I’m lucky to work with a small group of trusted instructors, guides and yogis who join us from time to time — each bringing their own experience, energy, and expertise to the team.
