Terms and Conditions
By submitting a booking request, you agree to the terms and conditions set out below:
General Terms and Conditions
Full payment is required on booking, and the booking is not confirmed until full payment is received.
You must be aged 18 or over to attend one of our courses/trips (unless by prior arrangement).
We do not offer alternative dates if you need to cancel the dates that you have booked.
A full refund of your course/trip fee will be made should Tasman Adventure cancel your course/trip for any reason other than non-payment of the balance due.
You should ensure you are fully insured for your course/trip to cover all cancellation and medical emergencies as well as equipment loss or theft.
Should the minimum course/trip ratio or trip numbers not be met, and the course/trip is cancelled, you will be offered a choice of alternative dates or a full refund. We accept no responsibility for any additional costs incurred. Minimum numbers are listed on course/trip details where they apply.
Should you have to leave a course/trip early due to ill health, injury or other unforeseen circumstance, you will be required to pay for any associated transport and accommodation costs.
Should you be unable to arrive at the designated meeting point at the designated start time, for any elements of your course/trip, for whatever reason, including weather issues, road closures or transport problems, we will not be liable for any refunds or transfer of dates.
You agree to abide by any decisions made by Tasman Adventure tutors/guides or associate tutors/guides with regard to the safety of the course/trip participants.
You are aware that the weather plays an important factor in outdoor activities and agree to any change to the course/trip programme that is prompted by the prevailing weather conditions.
You are aware that your course/trip may contain an element of risk.
You are physically fit for the course/trip you have chosen and will inform the tutor/guide of any medical condition that might affect your ability to complete the course/trip safely.
Cancellations
Non-Residential Courses and Trips
If a cancellation is made with 30 or more days from the course/trip start date, a full refund less a 20% admin charge will be provided.
If a cancellation is made 7 to 30 days from course/trip start date, a full refund less a 50% charge will be provided. (This is because the likelihood of filling the places at short notice is low.)
No refund will be provided for cancellations with less than 7 days’ notice.
Residential Courses and Trips
If a cancellation is made with 60 or more days from the course/trip start date, a full refund less a 20% admin charge will be provided.
If a cancellation is made 30 to 60 days from course/trip start date, a full refund less a 50% charge will be provided. (This is because the likelihood of filling the places at short notice is low.)
If a cancellation is made 7 to 30 days from course/trip start date, a refund of 25% will be provided.
No refund will be provided for cancellations with less than 7 days’ notice.
Shuttle Services
If a cancellation is made with 7 or more days from the date of travel, a full refund less a 20% admin charge will be provided.
No refund will be provided for cancellations with less than 7 days’ notice.
We reserve the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time without notifying customers. Any future bookings you may make, will be made subject to the Terms and Conditions which apply at the time of booking and you are advised to read all the Terms and Conditions carefully on each occasion prior to making a booking.
Please note: we work with locally-based, and NZ owned, partner companies to provide some of our services.
Special Note
New Zealand’s compensation scheme (ACC) provides only limited assistance to visitors to New Zealand who are injured. If you are not a New Zealand resident, we strongly recommend that you have full and comprehensive insurance cover, including medical treatment cover, in case of injury.
