Terms and Conditions

By submitting a booking request, you agree to the terms and conditions set out below:

Full payment is required at the time of booking.
A booking is not confirmed until full payment has been successfully received.
Participants must be aged 18 or over to attend our courses or trips (not including shuttle services), unless by prior written arrangement.

If you need to cancel your booking, refunds are strictly limited to the schedules listed in the Cancellation Policy Schedule below.
Requests to transfer to another date are at the discretion of Tasman Adventure unless otherwise stated in the Cancellation Policy.

Should the minimum course/trip ratio or participant numbers not be met, the course/trip will be cancelled.
In this event, you will be offered a choice of alternative dates or a full refund.
Tasman Adventure accepts no responsibility for any additional costs you incur (such as pre-booked travel or external accommodation).
Minimum numbers are listed on specific course/trip detail pages.

Definition: A "Force Majeure Event" means any event or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Tasman Adventure. This includes acts of God, earthquakes, floods, landslides, fires, pandemics, government-imposed restrictions, or adverse weather conditions (such as heavy snow, gale-force winds, high river levels, or torrential rain) that make operating unsafe.
Operational Safety: Weather plays a critical factor in outdoor activities. You agree to abide by all safety decisions made by Tasman Adventure guides, including adjustments to the itinerary prompted by prevailing weather conditions.
Cancellation due to Force Majeure: If Tasman Adventure has to cancel a course, trip, or shuttle service due to a Force Majeure Event or adverse weather, we will issue you a credit voucher for the full amount valid for 12 months, or offer alternative dates. Tasman Adventure is not liable for cash refunds, nor any personal expenses or losses incurred due to such cancellations.

Outdoor activities contain an inherent element of risk. You acknowledge these risks by booking.
You are physically fit for your chosen course/trip.
You must inform your tutor/guide of any medical condition or injury that might affect your ability to complete the activity safely.
Should you have to leave a course/trip early due to ill health, injury, or other unforeseen personal circumstances, you are solely responsible for all associated transport and accommodation costs.

If you fail to arrive at the designated meeting point at the designated start time for any reason—including personal travel issues, road closures, or localized weather problems—Tasman Adventure is not liable for any refunds, partial refunds, or automatic transfers of dates.

Travel Insurance: You should ensure you are suitably insured for your course/trip to cover all cancellation fees, medical emergencies, equipment loss, and theft.
ACC Note: New Zealand’s Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) scheme provides only limited assistance to visitors injured within New Zealand. If you are not a New Zealand resident, we strongly recommend holding comprehensive international travel and medical insurance.

Tasman Adventure works alongside trusted, locally-based, New Zealand-owned partner companies to deliver certain services and transport links.

Tasman Adventure reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions.
Any modifications will apply only to bookings made after the date the updates are published. You are advised to review these terms on each occasion prior to making a new booking.
